Where Everybody Knows Your Name

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a pretty chill day. I made my way downtown to pick up my race materials for a short little 5K race I’m running in DTLA on Sunday morning and I met up with Ollie for a little hang session. We ended up chillin’ at her bar Ham & Eggs Tavern and one beer turned into two beers, turned into three beers and so on. I always have a great time when I get to hang out with Ollie and last night was no exception. Chillin’ at Ham and Eggs on a Friday night meant that I got to meet some of the regulars who frequent the bar, which was a very nice surprise. Who knew that we have our very own Cheers right here in downtown LA?

I hadn’t eaten anything all day so all those beers meant that I had to stay at the bar longer than I anticipated. I was hoping to hang out with my friend Josh Rosebrook but unfortch, it wasn’t meant to be. After my head cleared and I ate my face off at Chipotle, I was able to make my way home for a night of quiet reading. Yes, folks, my Friday nights are RAGERS! I’m taking my time with Morrissey‘s Autobiography because I’m really savoring every word. The book is so Moz, it’s hard to explain unless you read it. He poor guy was miserable when The Smiths weren’t as famous as he wanted. Then he was miserable when his solo career was more successful than he planned. It’s rare that he ever pays someone a true compliment in the book and when he does, he also has to toss in a backhanded compliment. His section on Siouxsie Sioux is hilarious. It’s fascinating to read his life story thru his own lens. I’m constantly reminded why so many people are turned off by him but I get him … I understand. I’m certain he is really insufferable to be friends with but I bet it’s interesting as Hell to try and hang out with him.

Today will be a fun day. I’m hoping to get out and enjoy some of this 80 degree weather we got going on in SoCal then tonight, I’m meeting up with Amelia so that we can attend a screening of The Craft at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Not only is the movie being screened in full, but actors Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell and Rachel True will be in attendance as well. I’m so excited!! I hope your Saturday is just as epic. Happy Weekend!!
