There really wasn't a dry eye in the house on Tuesday's "Dancing With the Stars" results show.
Andy Dick, whose dedication, vulnerability and humor made him a surprising fan favorite, was finally sent home after scoring only 17 points this week for his rumba with partner Sharna Burgess.
"It's been the best," the comedian said about his experience, his voice cracking as tears welled. "It's just been the best." After jokingly telling judge Carrie Ann Inaba "it was all your fault" for giving him a low score Monday, Andy added, "The fact we are here in week seven is amazing. I really thank everybody here, it's been a wonderful ride."

As host Tom Bergeron pointed out, audiences have been especially moved by Andy's very public struggles with sobriety -- which made his commitment to the grueling competition even more impressive. After being told he was in jeopardy -- alongside JacobyJones and Ingo Rademacher -- Andy said backstage, "I feel like this is the part of the roller coaster where we're just pulling into the station and I'm shaking and it's time to get off."
Andy's sendoff was far from the only pass-the-Kleenex moment on Tuesday's emotional show. After a performance by New Jersey's Camden Sophisticated Sisters drill team, Brooke Burke-Charvet announced the show would be donating mirrors to the underfunded after-school program.
"This group is far too talented and beautiful not to be able to see yourselves," said the co-host. Aww. Then Tom handed his mic to one of the girls, who took them to commercial with a flawless reading of the teleprompter.

But the show's most affecting segment was the profile of Adrianne Haslet, a professional ballroom dancer whose lower leg was amputated in the aftermath of the Boston marathon bombings. "Her amazingly positive outlook is a testament to the power of the human spirit," said Tom in introducing her story.
"I feel like I'm flying when I dance," said Haslet, interviewed at the rehab clinic where she continues to recover from her injuries. "I'm sad not to dance every morning -- this is the longest I've gone without dancing since I can ever remember."

But the resilient blonde insisted, "I absolutely will dance again and will do whatever it takes in order to get there."
She can count on help from "DWTS," which has invited her to perform in the future. "When I heard from 'Dancing With the Stars,' I was so incredibly nervous, excited and happy," Haslet said. "I would love to dance on the show. It would be such a wonderful thing, it would be such an accomplishment for me personally, just on this journey I'm taking of recovery."
"We're happy to say we're going to follow Adrianne's progress throughout the coming months," Tom announced, "with the hope that we can help her create a dance routine she can be proud of when she performs it -- which she will do -- in in our ballroom."
Next Monday, the ballroom will see the contestants performing two routines: an individual routine followed by a trio round, with an eliminated pro or a troupe member joining the couples.
